How the plan is built. Par 3s take the closest club to the flag. On par 4s and 5s it tees off with your longest club, advances with the longest club that isn't the driver, and lays up so you're left with a full wedge rather than an awkward half shot. Effort labels (choke down, firm) tell you how far off a stock swing each number is.
